I am raising two children. They attended an English-language kindergarten from the age of five, and they now go to St. Joseph International School in Malaysia. Sitting through consultations, preparing visa paperwork and working out the costs that sit on top of tuition, item by item — that process is where this site started.
Before that I spent more than ten years in marketing at an online education company. During those years I moved between online and offline academies and met students and parents directly, and I had the chance to watch, at close range, students who went on to Seoul National University through the early admission route. I did not teach them; I mean only that I was in a position to observe which kinds of preparation actually turn into results.
I know which information gets inflated inside the industry, and as a parent I know which information is genuinely missing. So I label what I lived through as experience, and check rules and figures against the original documents of the bodies that issued them.
Watching a child grow up next to me, I came to see that education does not begin at school — it has already begun much earlier. It starts with when speech arrives and how a child gets along with others, runs through study habits, and ends up as a career decision. That is why this site covers the whole range, from child development to careers and exams.

How content is reviewed
Every article is based first on material from public bodies, guidance from educational institutions, and official statistics and announcements. When a rule or a calendar is described, the article states which school year or calendar year it refers to and points to the source you can check. Anything the editor experienced first-hand is identified as experience and not generalised. The full standards are set out in our editorial standards.
