Privacy Policy

Learning Bridge (the "Site") treats users' personal data with care and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea and related legislation. This policy explains what information the Site collects and for what purpose.

1. What we collect, and how

Every article on the Site can be read without registering. Personal data is collected only in the cases below.

The Site does not accept registration by children under 14, and does not collect sensitive academic information such as grades or school names from users.

2. Why we use it

  • Identifying members and managing posts and comments
  • Answering enquiries and handling correction requests
  • Preventing abuse, spam and flooding
  • Analysing usage statistics and improving the service

3. Retention period

  • Member information: destroyed without delay when the member withdraws
  • Comments: destroyed when the user deletes them or withdraws (where another user has already replied, the comment may be retained with identifying information removed)
  • Access logs: retained for three months under the Protection of Communications Secrets Act
  • Enquiry emails: destroyed within one year of the matter being closed

4. Cookies

The Site uses cookies to keep users logged in and to analyse usage statistics. You can refuse cookie storage in your browser settings. If you block all cookies, some functions such as login may not work correctly.

5. Advertising and third-party cookies

To cover running costs, the Site displays advertising from Google AdSense and other third-party ad networks. In that connection, please note the following.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it to serve personalised ads to users.
  • Users may opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings.
  • Personalised advertising from third-party vendors can be opted out of collectively at aboutads.info or networkadvertising.org.
  • How Google handles data as an advertising partner is described in Google's policy.

The operator of the Site does not itself collect or store the information held in these third-party cookies.

6. Disclosure to third parties

The Site does not provide users' personal data to third parties, except where an investigative authority makes a lawful request under statute.

7. Your rights

You may at any time request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal data. Members can do much of this directly in the profile screen after logging in; other requests can be sent to the contact below and will be acted on without delay.

8. Destruction of personal data

Personal data is destroyed without delay once the retention period has passed or the purpose of processing has been achieved. Electronic files are deleted by means that cannot be recovered, and printed material is shredded or incinerated.

9. Security measures

Passwords are stored in a form that cannot be decrypted, and HTTPS encryption is applied across the whole Site. The number of people with access to personal data is kept to a minimum.
